I am sooooo right there with you! I am 38 weeks pregnant today and want to have this baby now. I have been getting my "practcie" contractions that come and go every 20 minutes or so and vary in intensity. I have also been having hip pain and what feels like side stitches in the middle of the night. My midwife ured me that if I were in labor ther contractions would come stronger by the hour. Also, she suggested taking a warm bath or moving around to see if the pain would decrease, if it did chances are your not in labor. She said when labor starts you feel it in your lower abdomen, contractions usually getting stronger, and closer. However, this is my 1st baby so everything I feel makes me wonder, "Is labor starting?!?!" I wish you luck, and hope baby comes soon!

My 6 month olds upper respiratory infection... still vomiting?

The rule of thumb with infant/child vommitting is to not give anything to "eat" (formula) until they have not thrown up for 12 hours or more. I would give the electrolyte water in SMALL doses, teaspoon at a time, until she holds down the liquid. Formula has milk it it, which upsets stomachs easily when sick. I would also make sure you suck her nose out with a bulb syringe, this will keep the snot from going down the back of her throat-which may be causing the cough and the throwing up. Rub her chest with a small amount of warmed olive oil, a firm mage on her chest and back will stimulate the immune system and make her feel better. Also, keep a vaporizer in her room when she's sleeping so the air is nice and moist to break up any mucous. Sometimes it helps if they can sleep in an upright sleep position, perhaps keep her in a carseat or prop her on a pillow. This will ease her breathing.

Family Crisis... They Can't Move On With Their Lives?

We are six in our family. (2sons (23, 27), 2 daughters(20, 28), Mom + Dad). I have moved out of the house permanetly to study (in graduate school - I am the 23 year old). But my older brother and two sisters can't seem to get on with their lives. None of them are in school since finishing high school (except my older sister who stopped after her bachelors) They all work at dead end jobs. My brother owes my mother 6000 dollars, and refuses to pay her back, claiming he has too much debt. My two sisters have stopped talking to my mother and seculed themselves in their rooms. Everytime I call my mother, she keeps telling me she is worried that they will never be able to stand on their own two feet. The friction between my siblings and mother has resulted in constant heated fighting. ok, so for the past four years or so, i have been having these abdominal pains, they are very sharp, and come and go, the pain does take my breath away but does not usually last more than 30 minutes, but it doesn't stay "normal" for long. the pain is in the upper left quadrant of my abdomen... occasionally the upper right side, the pain shoots through to my back. i have had my gallbladder and appendix removed, so those are out. this episode has been going on for a week, the pain is bearable, but quite uncomfortable at times. is it worth going into the ER?...right now i'd rate my pain at a 3, but when it intensifies i'd rate it at a 7.

I think the 12" intelli would be a great scope if you don't mind the bulkiness. I use to have the 8" model and it worked great. The quality of these scopes and all the scopes that I have owned from Orion are excellent. The Goto works great so long as your a level ground. How well you pierce the heavens all depends upon your observing location. With a 12" you'll need to be as far away from city lights as possible to really enjoy this light bucket. Can you shrink a 50/50 Polyester/cotton shirt if it's already been washed and dried (in dryer)?

I have a shirt that is a little too low-cut on me (a v-neck). It is also a bit big in the sides. The sleeves are about just right, but they can shrink a bit and be ok. I already washed it and dried it on high, but it did nothing! Would I have to wash it in hot water? It will fade. I think I washed on warm, rinsed cold. Can it still shrink some if I put it in the dyer again? Would it look bad with a cami underneath? It is light blue with some white and flowers on it. I think that your family's history is the best way to see what diseases you are most likely to be susceptible to. I do believe that in your case you will be more susceptible to cancer than someone that has a family history of someone who doesn't. Could I be pregnant or ovulating?

I had the mirena iud taken out on april 30th 2010 and got my 1st period 3 days later on may 3rd. I had a normal period I guess abt 4 days. Last night on the 11th my little girl kicked me when she was playing in my stomach and it got me cramping and then a few hours later my husband and I had . My husband just got arrested. The charges are first degree burglary, vandalism, and failure to appear. He was arrested when the crime happened and he didn't steal anything from the house. I was taking 80 mg of Prednisone for 5 days (no weaning), and then 10 mg of Decadron for 2 days (again, no weaning), and tonight -- the first night off both medications -- I'm having chest pain and palpitations. I'm otherwise pretty healthy (or at least as far as heart concerns go anyway), but my chest is in a lot of pain and I'm afraid that I'm going to have a heart attack or something! It's making me anxious too, which is only adding to the problems. Please help! I'm normal weight and in my late teens. I was on the steroids for asthma and airway swelling. Meatloaf UUUGGGHHHH!?

I think I'm a decent cook, I only burn dinner now and then and most of what I make is actually eatable ( the dog only gets it occasionaly- except when I'm afraid it'll make even her sick.) So why is it that I can't seem to make a decent meatloaf?? I usually put in an egg, some oats or bread crumbs, and a combination of ketsup or tomatoes or tomato sause and some seasoning, sometimes some chopped onion and green pepper. But to no avail! Before I became pregnant I had small s, a small waist, wide hips and a big . I'm 21 weeks pregnant (measuring 3 weeks larger) and I haven't noticed my getting any bigger. The only thing that is getting bigger are my hips and (and my waist of course :P). Have you been able to look at it to make sure that you have not chipped it a little. Sometimes we may get a little chip, but it feels huge because any change in the mouth is a major one. Check that first. Then make sure to brush with fluoride toothpaste, they are making some now, in washington at least, that are almost 5%, then floss regularly and buy some mouth rinse that has fluoride in it. Also, there is an ingrediant in some gum that is very good for strengthening teeth, it is called zylatol. If you like gum, change to that and it will also help. Bottom line though is that if you have not been to a Dentist for your regular check ups, that should be the first thing that you do.

Ulcerative Colitis Questions?

I was diagnosed in January with UC. I was immediately put on Balsalazide alone which did nothing and then the steroid enemas which did nothing. We then moved to prednisone 39mg. and that seemed to do the trick after a few weeks. I was even able to eat most foods for a while. Once we changed to 10mg of prednisone and I had some added stress in my life in March, I went downhill to worse than when I started. I was constantly in the bathroom and the stomach pain was like childbirth. I finally went into hospital for three days to try to get this under control. I was dehydrated but my blood count was normal. I have changed over to Asacol and am back on 30 mg of steroids. I tried Lialda but it made me nautious. I just today was able to go 7 hours without running to the bathroom and it was so liberating. I have been off work for a few weeks and don't know if I can go back next week. This disease is so unpredictable and can turn anyone into an agoraphobic. I was wondering if anyone has experienced hair loss with their meds? My doc says he never heard of that but I have been losing alot of hair since I have been on meds. As for foods to eat, it really did not seem to matter what I ate during a flare up but white rice, baked potatoes and cream of wheat were staples in my diet. I so feel for you. I know you feel like you are the only one with this disease. Unfortunately, it does not seem like there are too many cures for this, and that alone is a stresser we don't need. Hi, I am 22 years old and my husband and I are TTC. I my period is scheduled to start tomorrow or the next day. I have had some symptoms (but it could just be PMS.) So yesterday morning I got 2 positive test results with the Answer. Retested this morning with First Response to confirm before making a doctor's appointment and I get 2 negatives this morning. 1981 xr 100 has no spark?

My sons bike was parked 5 yrs ago because of no spark. Recently we tried to get it going again. I figured the coil was bad and replaced it, but still no spark. I test the stator output and get 6volts of power. I checked the points and they seemed OK. when I tested for continuity the flow didn't stop when the points opened. So I figured bad points. When I took them out I retested the points for continuity and it worked fine!!! I placed them back on the plate with the stator and tested again but they still show continuity when the points are open??? I checked all the wires and nothing is exposed to the metal. Need help with this one, it's got me stumped.

Why does my 93 saturn sl2 kind of hesitate when i shift gears?

i have a 5 speed 93 saturn sl2 with about 145,000 miles on it. i love it but it runs ruff. when i shift between gears it kind of hesitates or cuts out only for a second, i have no problem getting into gear it just kind of chokes between shifting. It is also blowing black smoke out of the exhaust, and the spark plugs had oil and gas mixture on the bottom of the plugs last time a changed them which was about 2 weeks ago. since then ive replaced the egr valve, coolant and air temp sensors and o2 sensor. it has improved but it is still blowing out black smoke and hesitating between shifting. also if im idling for more then a few seconds, when i press the gas it cuts out for a second and then usually kicks in but sometimes it stalls. thanks

Unlocateable Clicking from engine area?

I was changing the belts on my 1990 Pontiac Grand Am, the main pully sets behind the right fron tire, so i had to take off the tire and the plastic guard in wheel well. After getting all the new belts on and in place, I went to re-mount the tire, and the jack sliped out from where it had been at, and the car fell about 1/2 inch from my leg and hand. Ok first thing is first, go ahead call me an idiot, it was my fault, bad placing and should have used jack stands, I deserve it, feel free to call me whatever you want. Now, after I put it all back together I started it and went to drive it a bit to see how bad I messed it up. The car runs fine, no pulling, no obvious signs of internal engine damage, but the only thing is, there is a clicking noise comming from right around the power steering pump (FYI PS pump set on p. side cloer to firewall) The clicking is reletive to engine speed, I have looked for eveything I can think of, need ideas and thoughts, please help if you have any input.

I had an infection for such a long time I don't even want to say...I started a job where I had to eat something every morning so as a routine I would take a yogurt & put some fruit & cereal in it. Well, I don't remember when my infection went away but I worked at that job for 6 months & ate the yogurt everyday I worked...so there are some kind of active cultures in yogurt but make sure that says it on the label & if you can eat one everyday. If you want a desert freeze it for a while & eat that instead of ice cream. So I never went to the Dr. & I am fine I hope you like yogurt...if you don't go to a health food store & ask what you can take instead.

My son cries in the evening...?

My son is 2 months old. From 6-11 at night - he is terrible. He cries nonstop even when being held. He clenches his fists and jolts his legs out. I know he has bad gas. He has one supplemental formula feeding a day(all else is bmilk) - for this we switched from nestle good start to soy formula bc it was worse. We use gas drops... gripe water and colic calm, burp well, feed upright & he takes baby zantac for reflux. He doesn't eat well during this time and has a terrible shreiking cry... We do all we can do but ultimately he exhausts himself during this time and then sleeps fairly well during the night. It stresses me out though and I'd love to know what is going on.....wish I could help him feel better. Anyone have this with their baby? How long did it take to get better? Any advice?

so my boyfriend got a check in the mail today..the envelope says its from davis smith with a return address from illinois..the check is made out to my boyfriend's full name and its for 2,950.00 the signature on the check is different from the name on the return address..the bank on the check is first national bank of omaha and is legit as i looked it up..and the business listed on the check is td ameritrade which is legit as i looked it up as well..we have called the police about it and they said they would come over but its been over and hour and still no sign of them..the weird thing is..is that the writing on the envelope is the same as my ex husband's writing..i called him thinking maybe he was pulling what he though a prank but he said he didnt..if he did..and i could prove it by matching the writing couldn't he get into trouble? even if he lives in a nother state? another weird thing is..that the check was written out to my boyfriend and the envelope isnt like a professional envelope.. the check wasnt typed or printed on someone wrote everything on it..i kinda think it was my ex just messing with him..idk how he could have done it..but i even showed my boyfriend and his friend the writing from him and compared it to the writing on the envelope[the writing on the check is different] and they said it was the same too..or very very similar..the check's memo says for travel expenses..so if i have already called the police who havent done anything..what do i do now? do you think its fake? or sounds like it could be real?? if my ex didnt write on the check itself but on the envelope and it was him could he get into trouble?? just curious thanks

Mom sprayed insecticide on my walls, is it safe for my dog to come into my room after 4 days?

i just came back from a business trip that lasted for 4 days, and my mom took the opportunity to spray my room with insecticide(bygone for roaches) while i was away, she sprayed my walls (sprayed 1/4 a can), and left the door opened with the airconditioner & fan on. she used a suitcase to barricade the door of my room to avoid my dogs from getting in. however i'm very concerned that whether if the insecticide that were blown out of my room by the fan will be hazardous to my dogs' health and will it pose any harm to them? it has been 4 days since my mom sprayed my room, and according to my mom the dogs were fine while i wasnt home. they display no abnormalities, however they seem a bit less active, not sure if its about the cooler weather...

I was 19 when I got together with my wife. She was 24 and already had a daughter.
