I have been playing guitar for about a year and I have been learning some advanced songs?

I was wondering if your a beginner almost intermediate, do you need a new guitar. I got a Fender squire tele for my first guitar and it's ok. The sound doesn't really deliver. I know how to play Enter Sandman, Back in Black, Smoke on the Water, Iron Man, Clocks, Bad to the Bone, Sunday, Bloody Sunday, Sweet home Alabama, and Louie Louie. I think I could get a new one. There is a sick, sick fender strat at the local guitar store thats white and gold for $290 and I'm thinking about it.
