Cutical prombems!!! help!!!?

i have REALLY dry, peeling, and cracking cuticals :D ive tried Eucerin PLUS intensive repair hand creme, but its not working as drastically as i had hoped. a frien recomended Burt's Bee's Cutical Conditining. worth the $7 for a little lip-gloss sized tin dish???? please help :( im tired of wearing band-aids on 3-6 of my ten poor little fingers :( any cheaper and VERY EFFECTIVE suggestions????
